Makes 1 litre.
Prep: 25 mins. It’s an easy-to-make, warming drink.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 litre boiling water
- 1/2 orange
- 1 apple
- 3 cinnamon sticks (or 1 tsp ground cinnamon)
- A large handful of fresh mint leaves (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp honey or sugar, add more to taste (optional)
METHOD:
- Chop the apple and slice the orange. Place them into a large teapot or heatproof jug.
- Add the fresh mint, cinnamon sticks (or ground cinnamon), and honey if used, to the fruit in the pot.
- Pour the boiling water over all the ingredients. Cover the pot with a lid.
- Let the mixture steep for approximately 10-15 minutes, to allow the flavours to blend well.
- Pour the tea into heatproof glasses or mugs, and include some of the fruit and cinnamon sticks for an extra touch.
