Strawberry Ginger Muddle

Makes 1 large drink or 2 small drinks.
INGREDIENTS:
- 4-5 fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
- 1 tsp chopped or thinly sliced fresh ginger (adjust to taste) – do not use powdered ginger
- 1 tbsp fresh lime or lemon juice
- 1 tbsp brown sugar or simple syrup (optional, adjust for sweetness)
- Plus: Ginger beer or sparkling water as a top-up
METHOD:
- Place the chopped ginger at the bottom of a sturdy glass or other container and muddle it to extract the flavour. Use a muddler, fork, or the back of a spoon
- Add the quartered strawberries, lime or lemon juice, and sweetener (if using).
- Continue to muddle everything together, pressing the fruits and ginger firmly until the strawberries are completely mashed and their juices are released.
- Put the muddled ingredients in a glass and top up with ginger beer or sparkling water to taste.
